In Part 7, Ron has left the group and the trio is down to two. How are Harry and Hermione to carry on the mission when they are still dealing/not dealing with their missing friend? Harry and Hermione decide to go to Godric's Hallow with disastrous consequences. Having narrowly escaped death, Harry is given to see his own parents death and his attempted murder through the eyes of Voldemort. What does this do to a person to witness such a thing? Is Harry an effective leader? In such extreme circumstances, can Harry be relied upon to be an effective leader? Can Harry be relieved upon to save himself and others?

In our Part 6 discussion of the Deathly Hallows, we get into the political atmosphere for the rise of fascist movements and ethnic cleansings. Is fear a contributing factor to these issues. The trio are unable to return to Grimmauld Place and so are living on the lam in the woods of Britain. How are they coping? Horcrux in hand but are they holding it or is it holding them? The tensions lead to open arguments and rash decisions. The trio becomes a duo.
Magical solutions to their problems seem quite often to be common. Far from exceptional, are these wizards and witches really superior to muggles as they claim? We discuss these issues and more.

In Part 5 we get into the aftermath of Kreacher's harrowing account of his final encounter with his beloved Master Regulas A. Black. Prof. Lupin shows up at the hiding spot with news and an offer. What of Remus James Lupin, another one of these lost boys of the series? The Daily Prophet is preaching propaganda and the Ministry of Magic is working on a magical pogrom for all muggle-born wizards. And the heroes and heroine are set to break into ministry on a mission near impossible. We discuss these and so much more. You know how we do it.
And guess what, we begin with much great news. The election owls have come in with a winner.

In our final tennis episode of the year, we get into all the happenings in and around the pro tennis world. Is there really much of the ATP World Tour Finals to discuss? Should Nole really put 2020 on his resume? Do folks really care about the tennis in the midst of a global pandemic which has no end in sight? Has tennis really shown the required level of due diligence to operate under these conditions? Should Australia back down from their strict protocols?

In Part 4, we get into the idea of maintaining normalcy when a coup has taken place. The wedding and Aunt Muriel's spilling the tea at the event. We are being pointed to Dumbledore for information. No more do we accept Dumbledore as a wise, powerful, benign character. We need to know about his past and we have conflicting narratives between Muriel and Doge.
There is a quick escape from the wedding but safety is fleeting with options limited. How is Hermione always fixing the problems for the boys? Is she simply deus ex machina (god in the machine) though I mistakenly say ex deus machina? She is constantly solving problems that the others refuse to consider or think about. We also get into Kreacher and RAB!

In part 3 of our discussion of the final book, we get into the 7 Potters departing from No. 4 Privet Drive and the ensuing flight and escape. Should we expect wizarding community to fight to the death v Voldemort and the Death Eaters? Or play possum as they have the higher moral ground to stand on? Or can we expect the main characters in Children's Literature to fight fire with fire in life threatening scenarios they face throughout the text? How do we logically and/or rationally resolve these issues for the adults and children who are on the "good side"? We are also at the Burrow dealing with the Will of Albus Dumbledore.

Well it seems this tournament happening in the fall is no different from it occurring in the spring. It came to a surprising though inevitable conclusion. Congrats to Iga Swiatek for winning over maiden major title and congrats to Rafael Nadal on lucky number 13.

We are slowly plodding along in the final book as we are at Privet Drive for the last time. What emotions will be stirred up from this place? What is there to do at this point in time when safety seems so abstract? What of the Dursleys? We also get into the humanity/mortality/ethics of Albus Dumbledore. With the death of one of the most notable wizards in magical history, competing narratives have emerged as to who really was this man. This ever present magical character turns out to be a most mysterious/private/hidden figure.
One of the most important concept being pushed in this series is the idea of Dumbledore being the stand-in for codified ethics in the magical world. How does this play out in the series? What do you listeners think? We love to hear from you always!!.

So it is late September and it's that time again when we have the French Open .... This is so on brand for 2020 that I fully expect Wimbledon to be played come November. Nonetheless, there are singles draws for us to discuss. We attempted to give this tournament a seasonal feel but like candy corn, our efforts were an acquired taste. But the drinks were great though.
Let's see what happens in this tournament because the whole thing seems to be so much in doubt. Can we even factor in anyone's prowess on this surface when it is all happening in September/October? Has guy forget that we are in the middle of a pandemic? So many questions not sure if we answered them all BUT we had a great time with the fanz in the comment section!!

So it seems like forever, we have not had a RTFLivecast in forever, so we thought this was a perfect time for another exciting episode. We into the US Open results as @JLR78 congrats Dominic Thiem on his major win. We into that debacle of a finals as well as discussion what does it even mean. What's with Medvedev? We reflect on the Novak Djokovic's banishment from the Open and issues surrounding his PR campaign. Speaking of PR, we discuss Naomi Osaka's experience and her effort to bring awareness of police brutality.
Do these TV commentators really understand what is happening in this moment? Do they care? What is happening in Rome and what will happen in Paris? Why are folks out here talking about Rome and the French Open in September like this we are not in the middle of a pandemic and it is not September?
Look yall made Realz go off on folks acting like Venus Williams in Venus Year 2000!! NOT ON MY WATCH!!
